The key is to first have the "VUK" (Volume Unique Key) for your blu-ray disk, then use the free software "Xreveal" to get your disc ready for playback by any blu-ray capable player (e.g. Old thread, but this is what I did to make it play my (only 2) blu-ray discs at zero cost. The only instruction missing from the thread is how you have to copy the libaacs/libbdplus DLL files to your Kodi installation as their instructions are geared towards VLC. It's basically how Xreveal works, but it's now built right into Kodi and it's a lot easier to setup. It requires Kodi 18.7 or greater and then it's just a matter of copying files to a few places on your PC. Lastly, and what I think is the best way is the method I found on this Doom9 forum thread. I personally didn't really care for this method as every time MakeMKV expired it had to be renewed. I've also tried some methods I found online that use files from MakeMKV. Getting it to work with the AACS keys was simple enough, but I had to convert the filenames of the BD+ files to get this working. Again though this is not a simple program to setup. Something I really like about this setup is no internet connection is required as it doesn't get the keys from an online server. I found this program worked very well and was more compatible than DVDFab Passkey as it played every single disc I own. It's another program just like AnyDVD or DVDFab Passkey, except it's completely free and you have to manually provide decryption keys and BD+ lookup tables. I still think this is a good program, and I was able to buy it for $50Īnother program I've used is called Xreveal. Other than that I just had a couple of more obscure discs that couldn't be decrypted. Disabling DVDFab Passkey before putting the disc in would fix this, since it didn't have copy protection anyways. If it was one of my burned Blu-rays, for some reason it be super choppy when it played. It's basically the same as AnyDVD although I personally ran into a couple issues. I've used the cheaper alternative DVDFab Passkey. I've only used this with trials though as this is a very expensive program, but it's never given me trouble and it just couldn't be easier

You just install it, insert a disc and it just plays. The easiest method I've ever seen is using AnyDVD HD. I've tried a lot of different ways to do this with a wide range of success
